The Third Angel's Message
Cry aloud, spare not, lift up thy voice like a trumpet, and shew my people their transgression, and the house of Jacob their sins. (Isaiah 58:1)
9 And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand, 10 The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb: (Revelation 14:9-10)
What warning message has Jesus prescribed for the sin-sick people of the latter days? The message of the third angel in Revelation 14. It is a grim message but an aspirational message. Those who align themselves against God will suffer terribly. Those who align themselves with God will keep his commandments and believe the words of Jesus. It is believing the words of Jesus that allows them to keep his commandments. It is keeping God's commandments that shows the onlooking universe and themselves that they have believed the authentic gospel of Jesus Christ.
As an individual, sound out the warning of today to the people of today. Disregard the scorn or sorrow of even loved ones who would stand in the way. He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. (Matthew 10:37) But be sure you have the right message. It must be echoed through the pages of scripture. It must be conducive of (helping to make) a life more closely aligned with God's law.
Christ and Satan are not housemates. You cannot serve both Christ and the things of this world. Hard as it is, if you want to be saved you are going to need to believe Jesus when he says: And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me. (Matthew 10:38) It is not really hard, it is a blessing, you just think it is hard because Satan has brainwashed you.
As I work through the latter verses of Isaiah 58 I will hopefully form a more complete picture of this message to be shared. Verse one has contained great blessing, it is a call to action, but the description of that action is still coming. I would be a fool to choose to reject the message that is coming, as so many before me must have done.
