Based on Hebrews 10:15-18
The Holy Spirit is the person who makes us holy like Jesus, on Jesus' behalf and by his power. The Holy Spirit told the prophets how he makes us holy; by the new covenant (in Jesus' blood), he will put his eternal law into our hearts and the words of them in our minds. He will not recall our sins and iniquities to mind. When our sins and iniquities are forgiven there is no need for any further offering or sacrifice for sin.
Becoming holy like Jesus is the work of the Holy Spirit in me, through his Word which he has given for my mind and heart. There is no further need for penance or sacrifice, I am saved by Jesus.
What is stopping you from becoming holy like Jesus by asking for the Holy Spirit?
