Then shall thy light break forth as the morning, and thine health shall spring forth speedily: and thy righteousness shall go before thee; the glory of the Lord shall be thy rearward. (Isaiah 58:8)
Righteousness shall go before him; and shall set us in the way of his steps. (Psalm 85:13)
And when he looked on him, he was afraid, and said, What is it, Lord? And he said unto him, Thy prayers and thine alms are come up for a memorial before God… And said, Cornelius, thy prayer is heard, and thine alms are had in remembrance in the sight of God… But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him. (Acts 10:4, 31, 35)
In Psalm 85:13 it is Jehovah that is in the third person. Righteousness shall go before Jevovah; and shall set us in the way of Jehovah's steps. The Psalm tells of Jehovah desiring to speak words of peace to his people, and describes the facets of salvation. It is incredible that some people think the Hebrew Scriptures are incompatible with the Greek Scriptures.
Jesus is not a racist. Jesus wants to give people of all languages and cultures his righteousness. Jesus wants us to live life in the safety of obedience to his law. Jesus the saviour is the same as Jehovah the law giver. (Jas 4:12) Come to Jesus with your sin, admit it is sin and ask him to save you from it. You will find yourself living in victory like you never imagined, and one day inherit eternal glory.
But one thing Jesus will do to give you victory is to give you a burden to save souls. If you do not act on this you will miss out on his blessing. Go ye… and make disciples. Amen.
